This problem has come about slowly and has now taken off. It started with a few exe pop up errors and led to firefox not loading at all. My office programs will not open at all. If they do they freeze up immediately and errors pop up. I had to start using internet explorer because firefox would not run. Altho every time I would open explorer an error msg would pop up but once I closed it explorer would open back up and work. Now I cannot run explorer from the desktop at all. I have to manually run it from the start menu. This worked for a few days and now I can only go to a few web-pages before the entire program freezes. It seems like things are disappearing slowly from the computer and are just unable to run! I started the comp in safe-mode and ran a virus scan, the only thing that came up were some files that spybot had detected that were in a back up file. It said they were unable to be scanned because they were locked. I since have gone back into spybot and deleted these files. I have NO idea what or where to go from here! Help!

Please work through as much of the Malware Removal Guide and then post the results back in this thread for further assistance.

If needed try running the programs in Safe Mode.
