![]() This is a picture of my desktop. I was trying to change the picture when all of a sudden my anti-virus popped up so I just moved it to the chest. But then it added that strange bar on the left side of my desktop that I've never seen before and I don't know how to get rid of it. Does anybody know what it's called or what I can do to remove it? Thanks. |

| Disable SpywareGuard protection so it doesn't block the fix from HijackThis
Open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only. Place a check mark next to the following entries: (if there)
Exit HijackThis. ---------- Note: the below instructions were created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, DO NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system Go to Start > Run and type notepad.exe then click OK Copy and paste the below into Notepad and save as fixme.reg to Your Desktop Code: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run] "Twhsbhl"=- ---------- Now, go to Start > Run, and copy/paste the following blue text into the Open box: sc stop DllInjectService Now click OK Next do the same and enter into the run box: sc delete DllInjectService Click: OK Be sure to restart the computer now. ---------- Go to start > Control panel > Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop... > Web tab Make sure Lock desktop items is unchecked. Select everything you find in there (except for "My current home page") and press the delete button on the right. Hit OK below > apply in previous window. ---------- Download ComboFix by sUBs from one of the below links. Be sure top save it to the Desktop. Link #1 Link #2 **Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting ComboFix. Temporarily disable your antivirus, and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan. Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished ComboFix will produce a log for you. Post the ComboFix log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply. Important: Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall. Remember to re-enable your antivirus and antispyware protection when ComboFix is complete. |

| You can't right click on it and select close can you? Or drag it in to the middle of your desktop and then close it?

| Upon running the HijackThis check, I got an error: ![]() Should I click "Yes" and proceed to the next instructions? And no, I cannot right click on the box and it is not in the Task Manager. |

| I apologize for double posting, but after running the scan, my avast! Virus Protector went off but I clicked "Move to Chest". Just in case that changes anything. |

| Click no then run HijackThis again and see if the entries are still there or not. Try to fix them again if they are there, if you get the error again just continue on and we will try again later. Don't worry about SpywareGuard for now. If we need to you can uninstall it until we are done. |
