I am setting up a friends new laptop. It comes with a 30 day trial of McAfee. I gather I should get rid of it immediately and install either Avast or AVG?

It's also rather buggy and not much cop at removing viruses.

@mcbee : Well, I wouldn't recommend using a freeware antivirus. Personally, I don't want to use them, because you don't have as much support as a paid antivirus. I would recommend Panda Internet Security 2007. And no, I don't have any shares or anything. I just feel that Panda is a good antivirus and I'm satisfied with it now for years. In the beginning that I used it, it caused some problems, but now I don't experience any problems with it. |

I ignored the advice anyway and installed Avast.
