Default newbie (new computer problems).

http://www.thecomputerforums.co.uk/f...computer-8980/

i brought a computer recently from mesh

dont worry alex its not your faught, you recommended some thing that you really liked. i know you wanted to help. it happens that this computer has some software problems i think we could easierly fix. i need some help though.

the computer keeps crashing and a blue screen keep poping up saying some thing wrong with computer. i called mesh and i downloaded some thing for the software problem. i dont know if it will crash again but lets see how it goes first. the computer is slow when it shuts down.

i hate bullguard it keeps telling me to buy its product. i tried to switch it off, so i uninstalled it and put a couple things i do like. i was going to uninstall it any way

i run it through spybot , avg anti virus, advance window cleaner and pc tools fire wall all free software stuff that this forum recommended nice

i relised they didnt clean any thing when i run it through these programs. it was bad. i removed all the virus and stuff.

before i could download the programs there was a software which wasnt installed properly so i searched and up dated it. no worries i learnt all my skills from this forum.

i tried looking for thekey for the mircosoft office and i couldnt find it. i thought it would be the same pass key as when i first logged into my computer. i guess i have to ring up mesh again. the problem with mesh is they dont answer emails. i sent them lots and no answer. they make so much money from there help line. they have instant chat soon but i dont know when.

1st problem.

when i ran it through spybot it had a warning box. it looks something like this

warning

c:\programfiles\spybot-search_destroy\includes\trojans.sbisee"includeerro rs.log"for details

how do i find this program and what steps do i need in order to fix this.

2nd problem

there were problems with the cleaner as well. they found 9 items found in start up
manage.

how do i find this program and what steps do i need in order to fix this.

3rd problem

what other steps can you think of from protecting my computer and making it run much better.

Moved to Virus, Spyware & Security forum.

i tried looking for thekey for the mircosoft office
Do you mean the product key? Didn't it come with the CD?

warning

c:\programfiles\spybot-search_destroy\includes\trojans.sbisee"includeerro rs.log"for details
What version of Spybot do you have? Open Spybot, at the very top click Help > About to see the version number.

there were problems with the cleaner as well. they found 9 items found in start up
manage.
Do you mean cleaning the infections with Spybot? After the scan is finished click Fix selected problems button. Also what was found? Was it cookies/usage tracks or malware?

what other steps can you think of from protecting my computer and making it run much better.
I need you to submit a HijackThis log so I can see what all is going on to make the correct judgment.

Download HijackThis to your desktop.
Double-click on the file you just downloaded.
Click on the "Install" button to install.
It will by default install to the directory - C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
Please do not change the default install location.
Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.

Next click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button.
HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
In the top left of the notepad window click "File" > "Save As" name it hijackthis and then save it to the Desktop.
Please save the log as a text (.txt) file or .log
Do NOT attach MS-Word .DOC files, they will NOT be looked at!
In your post, add the log as an Attachment.
* Don't have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
** Don't use the Analyse This button. It's findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.

Guide for attaching logs to a post

No problem, sounds like we just need to do some tweaking on some settings to straighten things out.
