Important: Close all windows except for HijackThis and then click Fix checked.

Exit HijackThis and restart the computer to register the changes made by HijackThis.

Download the Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT) to your Desktop.

Once downloaded please close ALL open browsers, also save any work because this may require a restart.

• Go to your desktop and double click on the removal tool and then click Setup.
• Once open Click Next
• Accept the license agreement and click Next
• Type in the letters/numbers that you see into the text box then click Next.
• Then click Next and the tool will start running.
• Once finished restart the PC and run the tool again to ensure everything has been removed.

Nice thread I started lol. Seriously though, thanks for interpreting the results. I guess uninstalling the Norton wasn't enough eh?

I've done as you instructed so now that the Norton is gone can/should I delete the SymNRT? And what about my Norton disc? It still has valid license for three more installs on other computers. Should I give it away or just burn the disc and scatter the ashes for the good of humanity?

Yes delete the SymNRT.

Norton is notorious for leaving stuff behind.

Run this tool once and then either delete it, or only use it about once a month for a good scrubbing. CCleaner is good for a daily cleaner and this one actually can degrade performance if run too often. (don't worry, it won't hurt anything)
