| Hi Jim

Welcome to TCF Step 1: First download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop. This is a 30 day trial of the program. After the trial period, the scanner will continue to work, and you will still be able to receive updates; however, certain advanced setting will no longer be available unless purchsased
Please do this: · Click here to download HJThis.exe · Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop. · Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop. · By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This. · Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue. · Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again. · Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there. · At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This. · Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad. · Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. · Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply. · DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Please post the results of both the AVG log and the new hjt log, and we can see what we're dealing with here. My System: #

| hey jacob, welcome to the forum...:) first off, go to start > run > appwiz.cpl and remove everything that says 'mywebsearch'. Next, right click on start, go to explore, on the top click tools > folder options > view tab > tick the radio button next to 'show hidden files and folders' > click ok > go to 'program files' > delete everything that says mywebsearch. Next, on to the hjt log. close all windows (may want to print this out), start hijackthis, click 'perform system scan only', place a tick next to the following and click 'fix checked': O2 - BHO: (no name) - {243B17DE-77C7-46BF-B94B-0B5F309A0E64} - (no file) O16 - DPF: {F7A05BAC-9778-410A-9CDE-BFBD4D5D2B7F} (iPIX Media Send Class) - http://216.249.24.62/code/iPIX-ImageWell-ipix.cab reboot, and post a new log. | thanks for the patience, jim.....got work 55 hours a week, and nightschool as well, so I spend enough time in front of a monitor and not enough in front of my kid....:) Okay, you still got the mywebsearch laying around. Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter. run hjt again, close all other windows, place a tick next to the following and click 'fix checked': O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...p=ZNxuk101KPGB reboot, and post a new log....I'll be on earlier tomorrow, as I'll be back at work, so should see a faster response.
