Hey All,
I've been looking into registry cleaning programs and i was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how well they work before i spend the money to buy one.

Honestly they are not worth the money
There will be no benefit to tidying up the registry
If you are running XP it does a pretty good job of keeping it sorted

totally agree with bm....:)

the only registry app I use is called ntregopt.....it doesn't touch any of the registry, it merely goes through and compresses it, removing all the empty spaces between keys that have been added/deleted over time. It improved my boot up time by about 30 seconds.

But as far as actual registry cleaning goes, that needs to be done by hand, and by someone who is trained in it. Spending money on one is just tossing it away. Is there a specific reason you are concerned about your registry?

Not myself but i have seen CCleaner render a pc useless :D

I use it now and again but prefer ATF cleaner

ditto. CCleaner actually touches and manipulates the registry, whereas ATF does not. Which I why I prefer ATF, and why CCleaner has the possibility, however remote, of making a nice expensive paperweight out of your machine. :)
