Like an idiot, I downloaded BitTorrent and opened myself up to something. At startup, I got this error: Error in C:\Users\Bonz\AppData\Local\Temp\lifwwnl.dll .....that is until I went in and restricted it from StartUp and deleted it in that folder. But, everytime I go to Windows > My Computer.....the desktop apps disappear. So, I am not able to into my computer.


UpDate: I have run a lot of programs that I have found recommended in these forums...these include CCleaner, SpyBot, Ad-Aware, SUPERAntispyware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, etc. and have restored my computer to functionality. It is still a bit sluggish and everytime I boot up my computer, I get 4 RunDLL errors as follows:

Also, it always says at startup: Windows has blocked some startup programs. When I open MSCONFIG it doesn't look like anything is blocked. And, in my Task Manager, under processes, there is a program running called btdna.exe ....which I know has something to do with BitTorrent. I have uninstalled this program, yet this lil devil keeps working. How can I stop it?

• Save it to your desktop.
• Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
• Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. My computer seems to be back to normal...operating normally that is. Is there anything else that gives you concern in my HiJack This log. This encounter was just too scary and I don't want to ever have to do this again, LOL.

You will want to do a few cleanup steps to make sure everything stays the way it is now.

1. Double click OTMoveIt2.exe to launch it.
Vista users right click and choose Run As Administrator
2. Click on the CleanUp! button.
3. OTMoveIt2 will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programs alerts you, allow it access.
4. Click YES at the next prompt (list downloaded, Do you want to begin cleanup process?)

• When finished exit out of OTMoveIt2

Download CCleaner

It is suggested to download the CCleaner - Slim - No Toolbar which is the version without the Yahoo! Toolbar.

• Double click on the ccsetup.exe file to start the installation of the program.
• Select your language and click OK, then Next.
• Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
• Click Next to use the default install location.
• Under Install Options, choose all the default settings
• Click Install then finish to complete installation.
• Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
• On the Windows tab, under Internet Explorer, uncheck Cookies if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to re-enter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
• If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for Cookies is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
• Click on the Options icon at the left side of the window, then click on Advanced.
  uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
• Click on the Cleaner icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
• Caution: Only use the Registry feature if you are very familiar with the registry as it can find legitimate items.
• Always back up your registry before making any changes.
• After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.

Toggle system restore to remove infected restore points.

• Disable System Restore ( see Disable And Enable System Restore)
• Now reboot your PC
• Now Enable System Restore using the same link as above.

It is the least I could do. If I would have had to get a computer repairman in here to fix this machine, it would have cost me much more.
