| OK that's good.
---------- Please scan your computer with Panda ActiveScan. This scanner requires Internet Explorer * Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC now button. * A new window will open...click the Scan Now button. * If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it. * It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan. (Note: It may take a couple of minutes) * You may get a warning from Internet Explorer that Panda is ready to install, please allow it. * The scan will begin. Please be patient as it can take an hour or more to complete. * When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the Export to: button (looks like a little Notepad). * Save the ActiveScan.txt to a convenient location like your desktop. * Note: You do not need to select any of the Disinfect options. We will remove any threats manually. * Post the contents of the ActiveScan report in your next reply. |

Bang went my desktrop background photo taking with it all the photos that were in that particular file, Plus goodness knows what else i expect. Sorry EF! I will continue in the morning as it is very late here now in the Far East. Cheers and thanks. |

| That's strange. You can do a System Restore to just before you uninstalled Spybot. This time just turn off tea timer. Disable Spybot's TeaTimer 1. Right click Spybot in the System Tray (looks like a calendar with a padlock symbol). Choose Exit Spybot S&D Resident 2. Run Spybot S&D 3. Go to the Mode menu, and make sure Advanced Mode is selected. 4. On the left hand side, choose Tools > Resident uncheck Resident TeaTimer and OK any prompt and Restart your computer. Note: If TeaTimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it. If TeaTimer will not turn off then uninstall Spybot until we are done cleaning. |

| Oh dear dear EF! There is nothing in my Programs re;lating to what is required by the inital restor set up. All i can get thru to is the Restore section in the Control Panel. That asks me if i want to restore from a Backup or create a Backup. When clicking on restore at the bottome of the box, i am told that the System Restore Wizard is already running and will now exit. You know i have had most of the problems since installing SpyBot which is now uninstalled thank heavens! |
