Hello I have an External HDD that I need to scan for viruses. I don't want to infect my computer as i have just reformatted the hard drive and re-applied windows xp, nice and fresh, if i disable autorun on the usb etc and then plug in my EHDD will this prevent the virus from entering my com and if so what is the best software to remove or scan for viruses on my EHDD

I have all of my photos and movies on the drive so i do not want to format it as i will lose 4 years worth of info

Thanks

Yes, prevent the Autorun feature before plugging in the drive and then scan it with your antivirus. Be sure to update the antivirus first.

If you have more questions just ask.
