Default Slow Home LAN - Why is it going slow?

100mbps = 100 megabits per second.

100 megabits = 1024 megabytes.

So 1 megabyte a second.

4000 seconds = 66 minutes.

As you copy the machine will lag due to being online and things going in the background an many other factors.

So 120mins is not that off.

Has the old PC got a 10 or a 100 mbps card?

Also things like firewalls can slow it down along with anti-virus scanners.

Turn them off while doing this.

Default Slow Home LAN - Why is it going slow?

So it does, was in a hurry and copied that off another website after doing a Google.

Anyway...

What network card is in the old PC?

Have you tried my other suggestions.

Also Windows's time guides are normally way off, have you actually timed it?

How long did it take?
