My girlfriends laptop goes crazy when she downloads any smileys from there or anywhere else for msn. installs tool bars without her accepting it, changes her dp pics and weird stuff like that.

Default Is SmileyCentral spyware?

Malware, no. But you decide if this is acceptable.

Note: I have seen users reformat their computer because removing Smiley Central was so hard to get rid of.

This is some of what I know that is/may be installed along with it.
  • My Web Search
  • My Way Speedbar (Smiley Central or other FWP as applicable)
  • My Way Speedbar (AOL and Yahoo Messengers) (beta users only)
  • My Way Speedbar (Outlook, Outlook Express, and IncrediMail)
  • Search Assistant - My Way
  • Cursor Mania
  • FunBuddyIcons
  • IWon
  • Popular Screensavers
  • Webfetti
Do yourself a favor and use a smiley site that lets you use theirs without downloading anything.

For firefox look at the Smiley Xtra add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/375
