hi all

Was reinstalling my modem drivers the other day and had always avg before hand, but decided to try avast . So when i was installling ,avast gave this popup alert

This alert is from within my modem install cd from my isp so kinda wondering something funny happening here.

I tested this with a mate to find out if it is just a false positive from avast ,but i was amazed to see that he got no such alert with his isp modem driver cd and he uses same model modem as me ,everything is the same with his setup bar the isp, hes with plusnet as am with supanet .

Anyhows, he got no alert and i did,so cant be a false alert from avast just being to picky about things.

regards

Sounds like a false positive, no idea why though.

It would be a good idea to report this to Avast. To report false positives register at their forums and then post in the viruses and worms forum.

I can't make out what file that is in the screenshot so you may want to type out the complete file path when posting. They may also want you to zip up a copy of it and send it to them.
