I am fairly sure it isn't malware.

This entry C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP indicates you have had one or more BSODs or crashes?

Do you have your Windows install CD? You can try going to Start > Run > type sfc scannow and press enter. This is the system file checker which will detect and repair any damaged system files.

Also have a look at this article How to automatically repair Windows Vista using Startup Repair

You will want to uninstall Combofix. This is a tool that can cause damage if accidentally launched.

Go to Start > Run > type Combofix /u (make sure there is a space between combofix and /) then press enter. This will uninstall combofix and create a new restore point for you.

Maybe i am getting paranoid. Yeah, I've had a couple or more crashes before. Vista didn't come with a CD installer, but I did create a recovery disc so hopefully that will do. I still can't shake the feeling that something's off but as long as it isn't malware I'll just have to let it go.

Anyway, thanks very much for all your help! It is really, really appreciated. Have a great new year!

Did you install anything around the time this started happening?

Maybe something isn't as stable as it should be in Vista? Just a thought.

No problem, Happy New Year to you as well.
