Default Is this a sufficient defense lineup?

Ok, I have a Comodo firewall installed and turned on, as well as the free AVG AV, and Spybot. I run Spybot and an AV scan pretty much every day (excessive?). So I'm just wondering if this gives me adequate protection for a person with no file sharing crap and all that jazz? I had Panda anti-virus and firewall before, but it was hard on my 256mb PC, and I think I had some free version imminently due for payment that I could not supply.
Also, I'd like to know the difference between AVG and Adaware, are they simply both spyware removers, or do they actually perform different tasks?

Hi Oly

Comodo is very good as a firewall as is Zone Aalrm.

AVG is as you know an Anti Virus from Grisoft and I was using it for quite a while but have now changed to Avast. (dowloadable from this site)

Spy Bot along with AdAware will sort out most of the malicious crap that you encounter while surfing.

You can't have enough security in my opinion so scanning every day is ok.

I run:

Spybot
Avast
Hardware firewall in my router

I scan maybe every 2 weeks.

My PC is squeaky clean, security is one thing but you can't beat being savvy and simply watching what you click online.

Most bad stuff these days is self installed by the user.

How does one become savvy and learn to watch what you click? I mean there's the obvious...sexually explicit sites that are obvious conveyers of computer badness, but what are some other things to look for?

I dont click ads.

I dont goto warez, porn, ringtone, wallpaper etc. etc. sites.

Beware of anything offered for free.

Dont use P2P or Torrents.

Beware of low quality/junk web sites.

Watch out for large banners that may be adverting some thing innocuous, don't click on the Red X as doing so may install some improprietous software.

Instead shut down the page by running Task Manager.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to start Task Manager.

As soon as you set Task Manager running (which will be shown) look for the entry immediately below it, this will be the browser that is running, for example Firefox.

Better to re-connect to a given site than have crap dumped on you.
