Default sujin.com.np for Internet Explorer

Hey there,
I noticed I have this problem when I tried to open Internet Explorer (IE) last week and my homepage was pointing to sujin.com.np. And then I noticed my IE titlebar also says "sujin.com.np" instead of "Internet Explorer". I did scans with Norton Antivirus/Spyware, Adaware, Spybot, Defender, AVG Spyware, ESET Online. But it's still there. Can you help me please? Thanks in advance.

Here is the Hijack This log:

Default sujin.com.np for Internet Explorer

Hello, lets see if we can clear this up.

Download SDFix.exe and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard).
  • Finally add the contents of the Report.txt in your next post.

----------

After SDFix is completely done and the computer is back in normal boot mode run a new Hijackthis scan and post the log also.

----------

Next post please add
SDFix log
New Hijackthis log

Default sujin.com.np for Internet Explorer

If you clicked the link in an email to get here then that is why the shortcut is pointing the that post and not the beginning of the thread.

Open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only.

Place a check mark next to the following entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Sujin.com.np

Important: Close all windows except for HijackThis and click Fix checked.

Exit Hijackthis.

How is everything now?

Default sujin.com.np for Internet Explorer

Oh yeah, I see! Duh.

It seems to be fixed now. I saw that too in HJT, but thought it was malware of some sort.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds good. We need to clean up and secure everything.

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
  • Click Options...
  • Make sure the arrow is set to Standard CleanUp!
  • Uncheck the following: (if checked)
    • Delete Newsgroup cache
    • Delete Newsgroup Subscriptions
  • Click OK
Click the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted.

Note: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp! If you have a 64 bit Operating System do NOT run Cleanup and let me know as we will use another utility

Download OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer OTMoveIt2.exe and place it on your desktop. (this will remove SDFix and its backups so they aren't falsely identified by any scanners as malware)

1. Double click OTMoveIt2.exe to launch it.
2. Click on the CleanUp! button.
3. OTMoveIt2 will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programs alerts you, allow it access.
4. Click YES at the next prompt (list downloaded, Do you want to begin cleanup process?)
  • When finished exit out of OTMoveIt2
This is a good time to clear your infected system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
  • Select Create a restore point, and click Next.
  • Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
  • Select the More options tab
  • Next to System Restore click Clean up...
This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.

Check out Keeping Yourself safe On The Web for tips and free tools to keep you safe in the future.

Also see Slow Computer? It May Not Be Malware for free cleaning/maintenance tools to help keep your computer running smooth.

Let us know if anything else comes up.

Safe surfing.........

NOTE:
I suggest to go ahead and install and run SUPERAntispyware Free Edition it is an excellent free malware removal tool.

Let me know if you have any questions.
