| Hey there, I noticed I have this problem when I tried to open Internet Explorer (IE) last week and my homepage was pointing to sujin.com.np. And then I noticed my IE titlebar also says "sujin.com.np" instead of "Internet Explorer". I did scans with Norton Antivirus/Spyware, Adaware, Spybot, Defender, AVG Spyware, ESET Online. But it's still there. Can you help me please? Thanks in advance. Here is the Hijack This log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 12:35:56 PM, on 30/01/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AppCore\AppSvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\guard.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\Program Files\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper\DkService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlcicoms.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxsrvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\Dell AIO Printer 946\dlcimon.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Snappy Fax 2000 Version 3\Sf2k3.exe C:\Program Files\Hamachi\hamachi.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCPD-LC\symlcsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\sniper.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE R0 - | Hello, lets see if we can clear this up. Download SDFix.exe and save it to your Desktop. Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive% (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix) Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
---------- After SDFix is completely done and the computer is back in normal boot mode run a new Hijackthis scan and post the log also. ---------- Next post please add SDFix log New Hijackthis log |

| If you clicked the link in an email to get here then that is why the shortcut is pointing the that post and not the beginning of the thread. Open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only. Place a check mark next to the following entries: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Sujin.com.np Important: Close all windows except for HijackThis and click Fix checked. Exit Hijackthis. How is everything now? |

| Oh yeah, I see! Duh. It seems to be fixed now. I saw that too in HJT, but thought it was malware of some sort. Thanks for your help. |

| Sounds good. We need to clean up and secure everything. Download and install CleanUp! Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
Note: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp! If you have a 64 bit Operating System do NOT run Cleanup and let me know as we will use another utility Download OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer OTMoveIt2.exe and place it on your desktop. (this will remove SDFix and its backups so they aren't falsely identified by any scanners as malware) 1. Double click OTMoveIt2.exe to launch it. 2. Click on the CleanUp! button. 3. OTMoveIt2 will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programs alerts you, allow it access. 4. Click YES at the next prompt (list downloaded, Do you want to begin cleanup process?)
Check out Keeping Yourself safe On The Web for tips and free tools to keep you safe in the future. Also see Slow Computer? It May Not Be Malware for free cleaning/maintenance tools to help keep your computer running smooth. Let us know if anything else comes up. Safe surfing......... NOTE: I suggest to go ahead and install and run SUPERAntispyware Free Edition it is an excellent free malware removal tool. Let me know if you have any questions. |
