Hi,
I noticed that SuperAntiSpyware was using a lot of internet just today. I'm not sure about before, but it seems to be using a lot after updates. I could just uninstall it and not use, but it has found stuff before, so I think it helps. 900mb is quite a lot, but I have 150GB . ekrn is part of Eset stuff, and I know it uses some, because it scans everything that comes through, resulting in it using the same bandwidth as the internet I use. (at least I heard it does). I don't know why, but SuperAntiSpyware might be off the filtering list, which is why ekrn isn't using as much.
Thought thread should go here because SuperAntiSpyware is part of Virus, Spyware and Security.
Anyway, hope I made sense and hope you can help.

0.o Is it really that simple? Is it just the updates at startup, or the updates itself. Because if it's the updates, then it won't work, I can't scan with an outdated definition file... I just unticked updates at startup anyway, I can do it manually.

yeah mate its that simple, just untick the box in the settings on the user mode of the program and then update it once every week.

Definition updates are the new malware threats added to the SUPERAntiSpyware database. Just like when your antivirus updates you may see a small decrease in performance until the update is finished.

See the Database Definitions Updates for more information on what all SUPERAntiSpyware looks for and removes.

Is this the paid or free version? If it is the paid version it is very important to either have SUPERAntiSpyware run at startup or remember to turn it on each time you start the computer and check for updates so the real-time protection is doing it's job.

Okay, mines free version, might think about getting the paid. Can it act as a replacement for antivirus like Eset, Norton, AVG etc.? Or can you have it startup like your normal antivirus?
