If you were talking about the online scan by Panda it will not download . It seem to go so far then an error message comes up corrupt of missing files please contact vendor. Tried that when I had Panda and after panda was deleted . for some reason it will not work on this computer.

Anyone know how to get this Panda Global Protection 2009 Disk to load. Every time I run the install I get Panda has found traces of old security files. Restart your computer to remove them and then run installing program again . I have done this over five time and sitll get the same thing with the trace files. How many time do I need to run it.
Or was there a misprint on the box that Panda came in and the Global Protection is only for Vista user not for Windows XP users.

Well Panda Global worked for one week and now I am back to the Antivirus turning itself off. I have noticed in the Windows Task Manager that two programs take all cpu usgae they are PAVSRV51.EXE AVENGINE.EXE . All that the program tells you to do is restart your computer . I do that and before I can start anything the Antivirus turns off again . There has to be a reason why this keeps happening.

Panda contacted me and had a list of other programs that if I had them loaded I need to uninstall them to fix the problem the only one I had running was Windows Defender . Now after removing that I notice that the Anti-Virus is off and the Identity Protection is off and the Anti-spam is off. they should pull the firewall and I will have to move on to Comodo.

This will be the last post on Panda . Panda tech support did a very good job and tried there best to get Panda Global to run. But due to my Internet being dial up there is just not the speed needed to run the program . And because of this the security program was allowing things to run that should not of been running. Some of the programs were Malware amd some were spyware this along with my slow speed ment trouble for the program. So I pulled Panda altogether.
I have loaded Comodo and with the 24/7 Tech support and there forum I can go there if there is ever a need.
with the changes that Comodo has made to my system my computer now runs faster then it has in a long time.
Thanks Panda for all the help you have given me in trying to fix something that was out of your hands.

UP DATE
I am empressed by Panda now . They phoned me. To see if there was a way to get there program back on my computer . But after talking with them they now undwerstand that this problem is something that unless you see it take place for your self there is no words to explane it.
The possibily are endless of what the real problem is. It could be some rootkit or it could be something wrong with the signature that my computer is fighting .
They add that there are some programs that will stop anti-virus programs from running and some will not allow then to update.
In my case who knows. And it seem that all the emails I was sending to Panda were misdrected so they did not get them.
Thanks Panda for going that extra mile.

Since this issue is either resolved or beyond what anyone here can advise on (and 6 pages long) I am going to close this topic.

If you want to check for a rootkit then please start a new topic with a log from GMER. But I find it highly unlikely since you worked with Glaswegian in another topic looking for malware.

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
  • Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
  • Double click GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent .
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO.

Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop and add this to your next post
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries
