We have a laptop which has some serious problems, its slow, active x errors, programs which wont uninstall, can connect to the internet but can't use it as the pages dont load and it wont even download updates for programs.

What i want to know is how i can get onto the internet(so pages will load) to post the hjt, mbam and super anti spyware logs.

Are there any programs i should use. I could download setup files and put them on a disk if needed.

Im guessing evil fantasy will be here first lol

Thanx for reading

Look under Internet connection problems

If that doesn't work try to transfer over a Hijackthis log so I can take a look.

i was just wondering, you know how you can remove java previous updates
e.g. if you have java 6 updates 3,4,5 and 6 you can remove 3,4 and 5.

does this wok for microsoft office and windows security updates?

Java and 'sometimes' Adobe Flash Player are the only products that I am aware of that leave the old version. Everything else is usually a 'Rolling Update' which uninstalls and replaces the old version.

Quote:
For some reasons two major software vendors, Sun Microsystems and Adobe, don't see the need to remove old versions of their software through the updated package. This is as unbelievable as it is unacceptable. Specifically I'm speaking of the Sun Java and Adobe Flash applications. Link
