i got a trojon a few days and i healed using AVG, it told me to restart the computer did so, but then it came back up saying it was infected again, so this time i moved it to the virus valut and deleted it, this stopped it saying that it was infected, but now i get an error mesage coming up saying that the file that was the virus it could not find and acess i denied, has the trojon changed my registery and now windows can not find the virus, i dont know?

but this is strange, as you can see below there is my start bar, if you look nxt to the clock, all the icons have gone funny, this happened when i recived the trojon.

can somebody help me repair this icon trouble as it is getting on my nerve, the rest of the computer is operating as normal, its just i cant open things whn i minmize and they move to the tray, and would it also be possible to recommend where i can go to make double sure that this trojon has gone as i know that they can back themelves up and then replace it back o the spot after the origanel has been deleted.

sorry for any spelling mistake or this being placed in the wrong place but this had been caused by a tojon to my knowledge.

my computer is as follows:
800Mhz P3 processor
512mb RAM
30gb hard drive
windows xp profesional

Welcome to CJ.
Download and rename HijackThis (HJT)
  • Double-click on HJTInstall.
  • Click on the Install button.
  • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe
  • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
    • Close HijackThis and rename it.
    • Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.exe
    • Right click on HijackThis.exe and select Rename
    • Type in sniper.exe and press Enter
    • Right-click on sniper.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
  • From the desktop open Hijackthis.
  • If using Windows Vista, Right-click and Run As Administrator
  • Click on Do a system scan and save a log file
  • Hijackthis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
  • Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
    • Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Note: Although we have renamed Hijackthis to sniper, we will still refer to it as Hijackthis or HJT.

You still have some pretty bad infections. We need to run a few tools that will help with removal.

Download SDFix.exe and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard).
  • Finally add the contents of the Report.txt in your next post.

----------

Please download Combofix by sUBs from one of the below links.
(Try all three if necessary)Important! Combofix.exe MUST be saved to and ran from the Desktop.
  • Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting Combofix.
  • Important! Temporarily disable your antivirus, script blocking and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan.
    • Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.
    • If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
  • Warning: Combofix disconnects your computer from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before Combofix completes its run.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    • Choose Yes to accept the Disclaimers.[
  • When finished, it will produce a log for you.
  • Post that log in your next reply.
Warning: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall
  • If Combofix runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your computer.
  • Important: Remember to re-enable your antivirus and antispyware before reconnecting to the Internet.

Next post please add

Yes stop SDFix if it is still running and do the Combofix scan.

Install it to the desktop and run it like this.

Please download Combofix by sUBs from one of the below links.
(Try all three if necessary)Important! Combofix.exe MUST be saved to and ran from the Desktop.
  • Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting Combofix.
  • Make sure combofix is located on your desktop.
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs
  • Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.
  • Click on your START button and choose Run. Then copy/paste the entire content of the following Codebox (Including the "" marks and the Symbols) into the run box.
    Code:
    "%userprofile%\desktop\ComboFix.exe" /KillAll
  • Click OK and this will start combofix in a special way.
  • When finished, it will produce a log.
  • Please save that log to a Notepad File and include it in your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

* ComboFix will automatically Restart your machine when the KillAll switch is used.

Combofix (CF) disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run.
If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Post the entire Combofix log in the next reply.
