Default Virus scanners

There really is no "best" virus scanner. The favor will go to whose has the most current virus database. This changes constantly.

The best thing to do is run an online virus scanner every now and then. Many virus/trojans/worms have the ability to "hide" from installed security software. An online scanner, since it doesn't actually install will give you the best chance at detection.
