You ran vundofix.exe? and cleaned?

Press F8 repeatedly after turning on the PC, then select 'Safe Mode' and let windows boot.

Then run vundofix.exe.

Past experience mainly. There are log readers/programs on the web that help. But they can have false information so need to be used caustiously.
