Default worm remove help

recently my com was hit by trojan and some unknown stuff. my antivirus is mcAfee 2007. it block the trojan for 3 times but after that the whole pc crashed. when i restart, the taskbar on desktop becm the win98 type. i now using xp pro. then functions in control panel malfunction and it will crash everytime when i tried to scan using mcafee. then i use system restore but it becm worst. after that i tried to reformat my window, at the blue loading screen it will crash. i was told my friend that it was worm. so wat should i do??
