i am about to install windows vista 64bit onto my current pc, will be doing it as a new install and not an upgrade but would like to be able to keep a hard copy of the e mails that are in my outlook express. is there a way to make a hard copy of these e mails and if so how do you do it ?

Open outlook. In the 'tools' menu - click on 'options', then click on the 'maintenance' tab. Here you will see an option called 'store folder'. This gives you the location of where your messages are stored on your hard drive. If you go to this file location and copy the files to another hard drive then you can just paste them back to the appropriate file after you have installed windows.

If you want to double check it all works before then change the store folder address to where you backed up the files and and see if it picks up the info without any issues.
