No you don't. Just go to www.aim.com, and download aim there for free.

No you dont.Just make a screen name at http://Aim.comthen download Aim. No AOL required!:) hope this helps

No.What we prefer here is called Gaim (it's free). It lets us use AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Google, IRC, etc... all from one program.

No, you can got to AOL.com and download AIM. Some versions are quirky. Version 6 seems OK and can be downloaded at http://www.aim.com/get_aim/win/latest_win.adp. If the link doesn't work, google it.

No, you don't need an AOL account to use AIM. AOL, however, will promote the "AOL account" every chance they got, and make the AIM and AOL account kind of like one thing.Don't worry, I thought I needed an AOL to use AIM, too. :)Good Luck,Decaf
