I am not great with computers so be gentle please!

I recieved a mail with picture attachment, opened it and it opens with "Windows picture and fax viewer".

It was only one picture but when I clicked the next button I saw pics of a watch I had bought on the net, pics of a car I had been looking at on the net and numerous pics of motorcycles and clothing.......all of which I had been looking at on the net.

I dont understand how these can be on a received email attachment.

Even worse some of the presents I bought my other half for xmas were there and they were a surprise (or so thought).

Second thought is when I send an attachment are all these things attached to the picture I send?

I am really confused.

Thanks for any advice.

It sounds like you are saving the pictures you look at on the net to your hard drive. Like in a folder?

Create a new folder for your pictures you receive in emails and save them there. When looking at pictures on the net just open them without saving them. If you do need to save them then save them to the desktop or somewhere easy to get to so you can delete them when you are done.

Either that or they are going into your temporary folders which can be removed with disk cleanup.

Or .... it sounds like you are viewing Temporary Internet Files, by hitting the next button.

Thanks both,

So I assume from that I am actually viewing what is on my computer not what has been sent with the picture.

Thanks again.

Lets make this easy for you with a free tool designed to do this for you. Once you get it installed and set up you can run it in just a few seconds anytime as many times as you wish.
Download CCleaner

It is suggested to download the CCleaner - Slim - No Toolbar which is the version without the Yahoo! Toolbar.
  • Double click on the ccsetup.exe file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then Next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click Next to use the default install location.
  • Under Install Options, choose all the default settings
  • Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • On the Windows tab, under Internet Explorer, uncheck Cookies if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to re-enter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
  • If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for Cookies is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
  • Click on the Options icon at the left side of the window, then click on Advanced.
uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
  • Click on the Cleaner icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • Caution: Only use the Registry feature if you are very familiar with the registry as it can find legitimate items.
  • Always back up your registry before making any changes.
  • After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.
