Default Help, I've been spammed by a so called friend!

Please can someone advise me, I recently sent an email to a so called friend with pictures attached.

A message came back telling me that I had been spammed and put on a black list! I was a bit shocked and when I mentioned it to my friends husband on skype I was told that their email wasn't working due to them moving house.

This sounds a bit suspect to me so do they have to physically put me on a blacklist as spam for this to happen, or could this happen due to them moving house? I thought your email address still worked even if you are on the move because you can access it from anywhere.

I am only asking so that I know the score and stop trying to email them if they dont want me to.

Thanks

i think you may be taking it abit personally

what exact spam was it like phil asked, thats a good give away as to whether they have been hacked or not, i mean they themselves could without noticing have a virus sending out multiple emails, it happens to many of my friends

but you are right, why their email isn't working due to moving house, i dont know

Thanks for getting back to me, I am taking it a bit personally because I spent New Year with them in Amsterdam so was a bit miffed. I guess if it was spammed it would still show up in their email system, but in the spam section if they have one.

Please see below for the exact message, minus email address and IP:

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

Remote host said: 548 Your IP is currently listed in SpamFilter ISP's Distributed Blacklist. Please see http://www.logsat.com/SFDB/why.asp for details. [BODY]

Incidentally, I logged on to the above and it said they couldn't tell me why it had been put to spam. I used to be able to send email's to their address no problem and I also tried sending my emails without the pictures in case they were too big!

Thanks

SisBal

i misread you message before i thought u meant they sent you spam

right so basically you've been marked as spam

i don't think it was done purposely by your friends so id take it easy, getting worked up over such things isn't healthy

contact your ISP and they will remove you from the blacklist according to the link you gave.

im not sure whether the spam filter is for your ISP or your friends, sounds like its yours so your friends most likely aren't even aware this is going on unless you've said

but take it easy, one step at a time jumping to conclusions will only age us
