msn, aol, and yahoo, and myspace, i think is all the ones she has, I tried to sign on under her name but, of course, she has passwords. We just got this computer about a month ago and she has literally lived on it

Without the passwords you're stuck.

Don't know about Aol and myspace. But you should be able to view any logs for msn as html documents directly from your hdd if you've separate usernames setup for windows (mum, dad, daughter, as examples).

just go to 'my computer'
double click the 'c:' drive (should you have more than one drive connected).
double click the 'documents and settings' folder.
Select the user you want to check and double click on that folder.
Then double click the folder named: *insert name*documents.
Then look for a folder called 'my chat logs'
The files are in there.

for the MSN you can use your current email address (whether hotmail or not) to create a microsoft passport then use it as a parenting account on your daughters MSN address.

Im not familiar with AIM or Yahoo IM but there might be a similar thing, as for Myspace you'll need her password, shes your daughter say if she doesnt tell you it shes banned from the computer!! :D

not necesarily, you have an option within MSN wether to store the chat logs or not if she has it set on not, then it wont work, whereas with the parenting account it automatically stores conversations for you to view when you log on.

(sorry to contradict you : S)

I agree, if she is in some kind of danger than that's a different story.

But if your just snooping then digging in that dirt you will get your hands dirty.
