| hi all. i have accidentally erased my password and i forgot the answer to the secret question, so now i can't access my e-mail account. microsoft is giving me a generic answer everytime. i really need this account, so creating another is out of the question. all my contacts use the old address. please help. |

| You need to contact M/soft or follow the lost password retrieval system in hotmail.

| the password was saved in the auto sign-in , i unchecked it by mistake. i was clicking the mouse a little too fast. m/soft is a hopeless case all the help is useless all generic..........click this link if this and click this link if that. no real person is reading only the computer robot named max. |

| Short of trying to guess it you have no other option but to go through the normal retrieval channels. |

| Did when you signed up use an alternate email address? If so that is the only possible way to recover your account, by sending the details to it

| Firefox autosaves stored passwords regardless - have you tried looking in Security -> Saved Passwords?
