Cheers in advance for this guys, nobody seems to have a clue whats causing this.

I have a friend whom ive been chatting to on live messenger (v8.1 etc [up to date one] ) for a good number of months, but all of sudden the odd message i sent to her and vica versa wouldnt arrive.

The problem has become more common in the last month with 70% now not getting through. It seems Nudge's are now the only thing i can rely on.

We both upgraded to the v8.5 beta2 but the problem seems as bad as before.

But the thing that is really confusing, is that I regularly chat to about 10 people, and she is the only person I can confirm it happens to. (Although I suspect it's the same to another mate but I dont know her well enough to know for sure).
Any thought are much appreciated.
Thankyou for your time.

Messengers can be a puzzling beast to figure out when they act up. The first thing I would inspect is if the Java is up to date. Go to add/remove programs and see what version is installed.

Next, try this: click on "Start Now", make sure everything is up to date. http://secunia.com/software_inspector/

If everything seems to check out there then maybe you should try some house cleaning.

A great tool for this is CCleaner

Simply install it and run it. Takes only seconds and is free.

Let us know how it goes.

And welcome to TCF!
