newbie wants to get skype advice please.

i want to get skype. where i could chat to someone who is online and look at them as well. is there any recommemdations about which to download and what equitment to buy to make skype work

You could just buy a webcam and a headset and use Google Talk

to talk to friends and girlfriend. it just have to be good sound wise. it doesnt have to be expensive

Here is a great headset, Im not to sure about the webcam though but will have a look around:)

List of webcams here not sure which is best though but if you pick one im sure we will figure it out:)

hi the mirco phone you recommended are they for skype. it doesnt metion it on the site

Oh sorry I was under the impression that any headset would do, but im not 100% sure on that!
So if you look here you will find reviews of Skype headsets, but I am able to make calls to people with a headset that I bought for gaming so I don't see why any headset shouldn't work

I just asked around and they say it is basically a gimmick, that you can use any headset and just download the software then
