Default Persistent Security Pop-Up Window in Windows Mail

Hi

I have my yahoo email account configured to download emails to Windows Mail (OS is Windows Vista premium). I have noticed recently an annoying security window keeps popping up, after opening Windows Mail, requesting my username and password login details for yahoo. It never use to do this until now; incidently, I tried downloading all the latest windows updates and the PC wouldn't reboot !! I had to use system restore to get it to start !

Any tips would be gratefully received ! Thanks.

Dean...

What program do you use for malware protection? Sometimes various malware software will change the login information of your mail accounts.

Go into the properties of the Yahoo account you have configured with Windows Mail and make sure the username and password are configured correctly...save your settings and try opening Windows Mail again to check for new messages.

Do you still get the security warning? If so,what is the exact wording of the security message?

Apart from Windows Defender, the main anti-malware program in use will be the one that comes with Kaspersky - which provides everything e.g. antivirus, firewall etc.etc. Since I have been on to it, it hasn't done it lately but I will do what you suggest, next time it does 'misbehave'. thanks.

something I have noticed is when I open the account properties in Windows Mail and click on the connections tab, it shows a little box, asking you if you want to connect IE via your local area network. At the moment, that box is unchecked but if you do 'check' it, it allows you to connect via Tiscali Broadband (which is my ISP). Should it be checked or not ? Just wondered; it doesnt seem to make any difference anyway !
