yes you say that but I know someone who lives not to far away (In this contry infact just a town away) who can log onto their windows live perfectly fine, no trouble whatsoever.

Would you still say it's Window's problem?

"Yep you would say that" Err, why would I? I have no reason to lie mate.

Yep, MSN uses many thousands of servers that people log into, if you are on a different one to your mate then they will be fine and you won't.

I think you should format your PC, that will definitely fix it.

First off you have come here looking for advice, don't shun it when you don't hear what you want to.

I work in the trade and fix PCs all day long, I KNOW it is a problem their end as I get like a phone call a day with the same COMMON problem.

MSN probably uses hundreds of servers for each town, many thousands for a country, and many hundreds of thousands worldwide.

Just sit it out and wait, if it isn't sorted within 48hrs start looking at other options.

Finally the format option will wipe your PC, it's an in IT joke I guess, sorry, just having a bit of fun.

I wasnt sunning it per say, just looking for a way around it because as you said its not exactly what I wanted to hear. I had no idea you were a professional and I honestly wasnt expecting to get a reply from one, so I appologise for questioning your knowlegde. Alright, I guess I got no choice as to go with that and yeah I figured Formating was a joke but I wasnt thinking all that clear at the time.

Just as a bit of trivia, why is it they use so many servers?

Because they have lots of users (something like 300 million)

I'm not going to disagree with Dave, but I do not think the error you are getting is at MSN's end. The 'Service is Temporarily Unavailable' seems to be a bit of a catch all error.

Wait for 24 hours and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, reply back.

In the mean time, you may want to try Trillian

I have found that when MSN has refused to work before, another client might. But, there is still no guarantee it will work. Just a different client might put you on a different server etc.
