Hi everyone.

I'm tying to setup Thunderbird as my email client, but when I try to retrieve my emails a window appears saying "Unknown username or bad password". I'm on Virgin Broadband & using ZoneAlarm Security Suite. When I go onto the Virgin website to retrieve my emails the email address & password I put in are correct, (obviously). My email account is a Virgin Webmail one. Hope this helps.
Anybody got any ideas what's happening or what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers guys ! (& gals)

Hi, I had a problem when I set up Thunderbird to retrieve my gmail emails my username and password were correct, but I simply logged in my webmail account and went into the POP settings which will give you the server settings you need to input into thunderbird to retrieve your emails. Perhaps those settings are wrong. Also double check your password just to be sure.

Thanks HistoryGirl. I've checked the settings on Thunderbird & everything seems ok. I can send emails using Thunderbird, so the stmp settings are ok but I can't pick up emails this way so there's something wrong with the POP3 settings as it refuses to log on saying "Unknown username or bad password", but as I said earlier these are correct as I can retrieve my emails using the Virgin website. Has anyone any other ideas? Thanks, roxtar

Get the pop3 settings from the Virgin website and enter them.
