Windows Live Messenger has stopped working

A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Trés irritant. It has happened without fail since I downloaded the Live Update (WLM 2009/v14.0)

No matter how I try to open the program, I get this error message. I emailed MS Support several days ago, but the incompetent buggers havn't bothered to do anything, leaving me only with a robot telling me how very sorry they are. Cheers MS, really helps

Don't know if any of you know of a fix? I checked the registry for known things, but nothing I could flag up, if theres any extra keys worth checking let me know and I'll see what I can find...

Oh yeah, I also tried reinstalling it several times, no good. Also tried a Repair, that didn't work either, it told me it had, but it hadn't, if that makes sense, it said it installed some sub-program type job that was missing, yet unneccesary anyway and it should work fine now, but it doesn't.

TIA, Ollie.

are you using an earlier version of msn for now? Also I've found live to be very buggy, freezing, laggy, sometimes tells me i have no webcam etc.

No, I'm stuck with eBuddy :@ which is annoying me even more.

Because since I did the update, my older one doesn't work anyway (same error)

However this may just be because it deleted the old one on install, and redirected the shortcut to the new one...

Yeah. I have found the new WLM and rest of the suite to be very buggy, and it often just craps out for no reason what so ever.

But mine does at least work most of the time.

You cant ry going back to an older version, maybe 8.5 or something.

Seriously mate read my OP, I have done this several times.

Thanks serverguy, however I don't use the PC loads at the moment as I'm tied up in other projects, so I think I'll hold out on eBuddy until my new systems up and running.
