A Yahoogroup member can send email but does not... Aside from the full possibility that some sort of mess went on with his account on Yahoo's side, the most likely thing is that the "member" is an alias email address and signed up with a different address at your group. The best way to explain this is for me to tell you how to set up an email alias.Sign in and go to the Yahoo Groups homepage. At the top of your group list, click the "Manage" link. On this page, click the "My email preferences" on the right side, near the top. This page lists your primary yahoo address and any that are connected to your Yahoo account. While the extra addresses here are "aliases", what we're after you find by clicking the "Edit" link for any/one of the addresses. To keep things clean for this "demo", choose your primary yahoo address. At the bottom of the page, you will see a few blank fields for alternate email addresses. The addresses linked to your account and the alternate posting ones do not have to match, but they can.The alternate email addresses won't show up in any group membership lists, but any group that the primary account can post to, the alternates can also post to. Adding an alternate address does not redirect nor duplicate the messages to the alternate. This is handy for people who want to keep their real address private but receive email in their inbox via the main address. |
