i need help finding the driver for the Agere Olympia U40 Usb Modem. There tech support doesn't help and i can't find this anywhere. My driver pack doesn't find it either. can anyone direct me to the driver? thanks.

I take it you don't have the disc that came with it? Had a look online and there is nothing. You could replace it with a DSL Router, which would be a good upgrade none-the-less. USB Modems are a bit nasty

It's for one of my customers. he doesn't have the disk and i couldn't find it on line and the tech support sucks for them. it's a usb dialup modem.

The Agere USB Modem was marketed by Circuit City under the NexxTech brand as the NSMODX2 modem.

The model I have is the Agere Olympia U40 Modem IC:4005B-Olympia (little blue dongle, single phone jack)

The drivers are at www.nexxtech.com on only one of the Canadian or US support sites(can't remeber which, but only one has modems). It forks on the main page.

The drivers there are not the latest, but they're easy to get at. The archive is about 110 Mb. I bought 5 of them for $20 at the local surplus, and I was looking for the latest drivers, but the included CD was newer ( ca. 2006, Vista support included).

If these don't float your boat, try emailing me through this site and maybe I can get them to you. I suspect I can't upload them here (Mr Moderator??).

Hey! Might be useful to someone. Leave it. However, (there's always a catch, isn't there? ), Circuit City is going belly up, so I don't know how long that web site will be around.

Google has picked up this thread, so there may be other people looking in.
