Hi peoples,
I recently got a sound problem. I have an Acer Aspire 3690 notebook, which originaly ad windows vista on it, but I got rid of that and am now running windows xp. I just reinstalled my system, because I suddenly got a sound problem, and because I was already planning on doing it anyway for other reasons. Anyways, after reinstallation, I went to the acer website and downloaded all the drivers. But when I installed the Realtek Audio driver, my computer detected a Modem device on High Definition Audio bus, but it would not use the driver from realtek. After installing bluetooth, I got something called bluetooth audio, but that was obviously not going through my speakers, so I still have no sound. And that Modem device on High Definition Audio bus is still a mystery.. Can someone help me get my sound back? thx ppl

Yes, you're right, it was my built in modem. It has now finally detected it and installled it. Unfortunately, I still have no sound.. I think I'll have to get it repaired, because my realtek audio still wont work..

If everything is installed ok in device manager check the audio settings in control panel.
