hey thanks alot, just wondering though, would it be this one?

-DVD converter Convert any input video format to VOB-DVD. Convert a VOB-DVD file to any other video format.
The rendered VOB files are DVD-standard strictly compliant and "TMPGEnc DVD Author" compatible. They are
seamlessly accepted by the "TMPGEnc DVD Author" which will add the necessary Menu, create the
additional .bup and .ifo files, rename/split the rendered VOB file to Vts_xx_x.vob before burning to DVD.

Lol, there may be an easier way to do it
Make a copy of one of the files
right click on it and select rename, rename the extension file to mpg and save

You should try this since the video is as such just encoded in MPEG2 and Windows Movie Maker as far as I remember supports MPEG2.
It is however not what I would recommend and could lead to skipping in the file. This is because a VOB file also contains information about subtitles, menus etc, even if that information is just "null" for does not exist. Usually however this will be no issue. The last time I had an issue with this was with multiple audio tracks.
It's just in my mind, messy. Converting would be cleaner, in fact there is probably a program that can extract the data instead of convert it.
Funny you would have a BUP but not an IFO

Did you convert it, or just rename the file by changing the extension?

Anyways, via one of my favourite websites (Doom9) I have found out about these two little tools.
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Vobrator
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VobEdit
Both will allow you to take a VOB and extract the MPG file from it.
