Default Connecting Stereo to TV & DVR

For XMas i got a new RCA DVD/stereo/surround sound system.
--On the Back it has Yellow/red/white RCA OUT cables. It also has a red and white IN cables.

My TV is semi old. It has the cable barrel and the
--Yellow/Red/White RCA cables holes.

I have a DVR too, the cable from the wall goes to the DVR and then the TV and the DVR performs all it functions.
--The DVR has a Digital Audio out spot(looks like an RCA cable would fit there). It then has 3 rows of "input (AUX)" R/Y/W. It also has an S cable spot(dont think thats revelant).

How would i go about hooking all this up? I want my stereo to be connected to the TV so when i watch TV it uses the stereos 5 speakers. If you need more details just let me and ill post them.
