Default Designing your DVD menus?

I use DVD Lab Pro, whic is very easy to use, but not cheap :

http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/dvdlabpro.html

If you have a full version of Nero, you can download Nero Vision or Nero Vision Express, depending on what version you have and this will allow creation of simple menus. This is free from Nero's website.

If you are converting avis to DVD then ConvertXtoDVD is a decent progaram that converts and allows insertion of menus : http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

I've done Wedding Videos and slideshows of photos, with Menus and soundtracks etc., using DVD Lab Pro, but I guess it depends on what you want to do.

Default Designing your DVD menus?

As cheeswheels99 says I dont know of any free ones.

There are many on the market to choose from .... check out this page for some general info and programs available : http://www.videohelp.com/author#3;6

You didn't say how experienced your brother is, but authoring a complex DVD is quite an art and isn't learnt overnight, even with the best software .... so something to bear in mind
