Tronix is on a distinguished road
Default Drivers for my new PC.

I know this may seem quite a task, but I cannot do it.

I ordered a new PC, and cannot find all the drivers which are needed so, here's the PC;
 • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 8MB Cache
 • Asrock 4 core Dual SATA2
 • 2048 MB DDR2
 • 400 GB 16 MB Cache Drive
 • SATA Interface
 • DVDRW 20x Lightscribe Dual Layer
 • nVidia 8500GT Ge-Force PCI 512 MB Express
This is Windows XP SP2 Genuine. If you could find all the drivers needed I would be forever in your debt as I do not want to spend all Christman day downloading and installing drivers.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks, but this isnt what i'm looking for. I cant actually use the Computer till Christmas, I want to kno the drivers which are needed for it so I can burn them onto a DVD Disk, and install that day instead of searching around and downloading them.

Thanks tho.

What makes you think you will have to update every drive on a brand new computer?

Or am I missing something here.

Hi Tronix.

In that case there may not be much point.

1) You're buying the pc whole so any drivers needed will come pre-installed. And any builder worth their salt will install the most current for you.

2) Drivers change rather quickly, the newest isn't the newest for long.

3) The only thing on that list you need a driver for (firmware is different folks) is the graphics card, so just visit Nvidia's website for that.

4) the rest of the items don't require drivers as such, windows'll sort them out for you (in the case of the optical)

Thankyou very much!

Though, the system hasnt got the Windows pre-installed, he's sending me to install the Disk. but, as you said, I would only need the GFX card driver installing?

You will only need manufacturers drivers for the motherboard and graphics card, both will come supplied with the machine on CD or can be downloaded from the Internet after installing Windows.

As above, assuming you have the motherboard disk, this should contain the chipset drivers, Lan, SATA, Audio etc. and the Graphics Card driver (if no disk included) can be downloaded here :

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.02.html

Are there any others you need ?

You will want to visit windows update right away after the installation to ensure you have all critical updates that the disk may not include.

Also see this thread Keeping Yourself Safe On The Web to make sure your security is tight. New computers can be the most voulnerable to malware as they usually come with the most minimal amount of security apps.

Apologies .... graphics card driver you need is this one and not the one I linked to above :

somehow I thought you had listed an 8800GT
