Can anyone help me to sort out a problem I'm having when trying to start iTunes?

I keep getting an error message as follows:

' iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration '.

Any help much appreciated - it's driving me insane!

No problems with running iTunes ever before.

Thanks.

Do other music programs play music ok?

Have you tried re-installing iTunes?

Yep - Windows media player is fine, as is RealPlayer.

I've tried installing an updated version of iTunes - whole thing went through fine, but the same error message appeared when I tried to run iTunes.

How do you adjust your audio configuration?

Try re-installing Apple Quicktime, it is part of iTunes and from experience it is that what causes most iTunes bugs.

I love the fact that this worked simply because it was like 2 days ago that Dave posted this as a new discovery.
You couldn't get that kind of service at any other site!

It is a different fault to the one I had but I had a hunch that Quicktime is responsible for many other bugs also.

Glad it's fixed!

My iTunes started doing this fault tonight, a few days since the last.

Seems quicktime really doesn't like Vista.

Re-install quicktime again.......
