I am trying to upload images but they are too big, is the only way to downsize by means of photo editing software?

Do you mean upload to the forum?

Even with the limits you should be able to upload some decent size and quality images.

Yes, my first attempt has resulted in a thumbnail. I have some decent photos of the Subaru which I would like to post..

I have moved the limits up to:

184kb Max Size

800x600 Max pixels.

This should improve things.
