can anyone here recommend a free good burning software, ie burm images, dvd movies and can compress dvd 9 to dvd 5

If you have Windows 7, there is an image burner program built in .... just double click the iso file and it will open.

I dont know of any free package for shrinking DVDs, other than DVD Shrink, which is a bit out of date nowdays. DVDFab is a good package though, which is nice and current and not too expensive. You can download a free trial for 30 days I believe.

Yep ...imgburn is a superb free program for burning images (and creating them too).

The author was the original developer of the famous "DVD Decryptor" program, which has now ceased to be. The only limitation is ... it cannot shrink the size of the ripped content from DVD9 to DVD5.
