I have a HP Photosmart 8150 printer. I recently had to re-install the operating system to my PC (Windows XP). When I came to re-install the printer driver, I get a message 'access denied'. The message on the pop up box says: ' D:\setup\hpzpr\01.exe m preload datafilelist...' This happened anywhere between 3-24%, depending on what preferences I select.
I approached the HP help desk who were excellent to start with. I have now tried every applicable download from the HP trouble shooting page and advice from HP involving msconfig check boxes but I'm still getting the same message. HP have now given up on me saying it must be the operatring system!! The printer was working fine before I have to re-install the driver. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the cause? The printer remains uninstalled/uunplugged.
The installation 'driver' disc takes me through the usual procedure and crashes whilst installing. |

Plug in the power cord and turn on printer.
Insert install CD and cancell install. Plug in USB and follow plug and play prompts. When you are asked where to look for drivers check/tick CD Rom |
