Default Help with Movie Maker problems and Youtube / Facebook Uploading

Hi,

I want to put various pictures down and a six minute audio track to compliment it onto a storyboard, with transitions etc, nothing too fancy, then upload it to Facebook, you tube and a DVD.

So in other words a video track.

I tried Windows movie maker, looked good ,but cant do nothing with it, useless,
wont even let me open the file now.

Magix dont work on my Vista, and its too difficult anyway,is there a simple free program I can use please?
Thanks.
Vinnie.

What do you mean when you say Movie Maker won't even let you open the file?

Hi,

Ok, I saved it in movie maker, but when I reopen it,it starts to open, then windows shuts down every time,so cant even go back to it...But even if I did get to finishing it,I dont think I could upload it to You tube or Facebook anyway,so a bit unsure..
Thanks.
Vinnie.

Ok, WMM is your best bet for a free editor, you won't beat it with any other freeware.

I suggest you start another thread in the appropriate section (maybe still the same forum but with a different title) to get some help in fixing the issue, look at it as a program fault to be fixed, not an issue where you need a different program. If you restart a new thread or have Dave move this and re-title it I will try and help, and I'm sure other people will have suggestions too.

Ok thanks serverguy ;)

When you say you open the file and it shuts down, do you mean
a) the file itself closes but WMM remains open
b) WMM closes completely
c) you're actual computer turns off altogether?

just clear that up first..

if A, it's probably a corrupt file, verify it is that option before we bother going through tediousness with that

if it's B then it might be a bug, try searching for updates, or it may be a codec issue.. what format is the file?

if C then again it could be any of the things mentioned in A and B, we can go into it more once we know which is which and whats what

I see where you're coming from but it shouldn't make a difference?

If it was saved as then it will recognise it's own format, if published then it should just be able to import it as if you were going to edit the file, the codecs would of had to of gone missing imbetween the save/export and the opening/import which is unlikely, but possible I suppose..
