Hi,

Thanks for your replys guys.

When I said it wont open,that was from a saved project.I saved it as 'Save Project As'.
When I go into WMM program,I click on file, down the list under project properties there is my project, I go to click on that,and thats when WMM disappears and a box comes up saying 'Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working'

So what I did was to start a new project again. I can get so far, put pictures on,put titles on, then when I try to import music (mp3) it comes up saying 'Could not be imported,Unspecified error' with a big red cross next to it.
Yet it done it perfectly the other day, I tried various mp3 files,but it still said the same thing.
Hope that makes sense,and hope you can help.

Can you play mp3 tracks? Like in Windows Media Player? If you can't you're probably missing a codec.

Hmm, that's odd.

Do you have anyhing to lose by reinstalling WMM?

You shouldn't do, as it'll be easy enough to get back even if doesn't reinstall..

Actually don't reinstall it, it's better the long way round. Download for XP Here or Here for Vista.

DON'T INSTALL IT YET!

Go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall/Change Programs > Windows Movie Maker

Then run all the uninstallation program clicking next next next etc.

When that's done open the installer you just downloaded and install it to your system.

Hopefully it'll work then

Ive just looked for it to uninstall and its not in my programs, ahhhh!! shall I just install it,would it overwrite the old one?

Oh, yeah, I just remembered it's an integral part of the OS, so you can't uninstall it..

Download it anyway and install it somewhere else (no, you can't overwrite it) make he directory it installs under WMM2 or something like that, then with the link on your desktop make it obvious which is which, so you open the correct one.

Failing that you may want to try a Beta that Serverguy gave me a heads up on, Beta's can have little niggle's that need fixing, but given that your current version does anyway you may as well try it!

Thanks very much,thats very helpful,I managed to download the version for Vista and have done 1 short film.

My only question now is how I can convert its current form MSWMM file into a form recognised by Facebook and You tube.

You now need to publish the movie or save it as an actual movie file.

The MSWMM file is just a project file that can be edited in Movie Maker.

To do this go to File and then Publish Movie.

Then follow the wizard through and you should end up with a wmv file that YouTube etc will accept.

It may also be under File - Save as - Movie File. I haven't yet tried the version of WMM that you are using.
