Default i cannot play video files

can anyone help me i im having problems playing video files.when i try to play video files with vlc my computer just flashes and slows down. i thought it was my graphics card i have a fx 6200 and i tryed a 5200 from my other computer and it worked fine. so bought a fx 7600 put it in and it still dose the same i am at a loss to what it could be. another point i like to bring up is that my 6200 will play battlefield 2 with no problems but the 7600 just slows right down

Are you running the latest nvidia drivers?

Also you could try installing a codec pack such as > http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...oDecS_Pack.htm

hi thank you for your reply.i have downloaded the latest drivers. i only had the problem since tuesday my monitor went off like it was in stand by mode i swaped monitors and i had the same prob so i swaped graphic cards to a 5200 and it was fine so i went out and baught a 7600 and it did the same thing but when i played battlefield 2 whith my 6200 it was fine as with the 5200 but with the 7600 i have a lat off lag just like playing in slow motion

it strange that when i put a 5200 card in my computer it works fine but when i put better card in it has problems
