i haven't had a chance to use movie maker yet

i will do soon though as im going to edit a video of me and my mates using our home made artillery.....firing potatoes

anyways, have you tried the editing options on the left hand side or the top tools bar, there must be a audio edit in there somewhere, ill try and use it tonight and see what i can find for ya pal

before i forget WMM only allows one audio tracks so i think it may have to be a case of fading in and out the audio rather than an overlap

ah sorry buddy

i should have made my post more clear

i can think of two things

first of which i stated that WMM is not multiple track so you can only add one line of audio

secondly when you start the music on its own is there a pause before the music starts

what i mean is when you hit play on media player for e.g. is there a silent gap before the music starts

if thats the case then you need to cut that pause out using some software which i can recommend if needed

then when you drag them together they should play as soon as the first tracks finishes

also make sure fade in and fade out are enabled, im sure that will cause a pause

You are not going to beleive this but i was getting excited about nothing, the problem still exists. Your question about a silent gap before the music no there isnt a silent gap on any of the tracks. Whats happening is that hen i am looking at the timeline with the tracks and play it with the pics the next track does start when it should then to burn disc it uses windows dvd maker and in WDM the tracks are palying simultaneously with the slideshow but when they are burnt to dvd and played back on my dvd player there is a huge gap in the tracks. So i am back to square one. I have done a google search but nothing is there to help me, it seems i am the only person with this problem.
